Healthy duvet

To start the day energized and happy, you only need one thing: restful sleep.
Considering that you spend about 30% of your life sleeping, you should make this time as comfortable as possible.
To ensure the remaining 70% of your life is healthy, you should pay attention to the choice of mattress, pillows and duvet.
Experts recommend not using duvets or blankets for longer than ten years.
When choosing a duvet that will keep you cozily warm, you should pay attention to its allergy-friendly properties, its filling quantity and the different models.

What should you pay attention to when choosing a duvet?

First, you should consider the size of your bed and the number of people.
Duvets are divided into three categories: single bed, double bed and baby bed.
After you have decided how many people will be using the duvet and have considered this based on their height and weight, you should consider your skin sensitivity.
If you have sensitive or allergic skin, anti-allergic duvets may be the right choice.
Also, don't forget that the thickest duvet isn't automatically the warmest.
Therefore, it is important to compare the different models thoroughly and make your choice accordingly.

What duvet models are there?

  • Rug:
The oldest duvet model. Due to its heavy weight, it can restrict freedom of movement.
It offers very high thermal insulation and is particularly suitable for cold regions.
However, in milder climates it can lead to excessive sweating.

  • Down duvet:
One of the most well-known and most used models.
When buying, you should pay attention to which part of the goose's body the feathers come from.
Feathers from the wing area provide less insulation, while down from the chest area retains more heat and is lighter and softer.

  • Cotton blanket:
Thanks to its ability to trap air, it offers very good thermal insulation.

  • Silk blanket:
Ideal for people with allergies or sensitive skin as it is hypoallergenic.
It absorbs hardly any dust and is therefore particularly suitable for asthma and bronchitis patients.
It is light, soft and breathable and can also be used in the transitional seasons.

  • Synthetic fiber or silicone duvet:
Suitable for spring or warm homes.
It doesn't keep you too warm and thus prevents excessive sweating.

In addition, there are lesser-known types of duvets such as fleece duvets, microgel, microfiber, temperature-regulating, bamboo and four-season duvets .
Depending on your budget, climate, and heating options in your home, you can choose and enjoy the right model.
